Meanwhile the House of Representatives has inaugurated an Ad hoc Committee to assess the implementation of Nigeria’s Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) policy.At the inauguration in Abuja,the Chairman of the committee, Hon Ahmed  Jaha, said the committee would evaluate the safety, viability, and sustainability of the CNG policy while ensuring equitable distribution of CNG centres across the country.

He added that the committee would engage relevant government agencies, International Oil Companies (IOCs), and other stakeholders to align Nigeria’s CNG initiatives with global standards. It will also review existing regulatory frameworks and propose appropriate legislative measures.

It will be recalled that on May 22, 2025, the House passed a motion calling for more CNG conversion centres nationwide. In response, Speaker Rep. Abbas Tajudeen, on May 25, announced the formation of the 11-member Ad hoc Committee.
